Painting is an act of discovery for me, so from time to time I take the time to experiment and discover new methods or materials. Ik begin by asking a question, for instance: how much chaos can I make and still have a balanced painting in the end. Or: can I paint a painting in mainly one colour and still make it exciting? I never wait for inspiration, I just begin and follow what emerges. The process of making is for me the most important. I never know beforehand if I will succeed. And isn’t that the true meaning of making art? Do or make something that maybe will fail. I for one find it very fascinating.
The video shows my final serie of this year. My intention was to discover new things and work on my colour skills. And I want to continue in this spirit in 2021: discover new possibilities and be more advenurous in my process.
